How many people in a non-console war related Internet conversation online have you heard discuss the difference between 900p and 1080p? I've never heard anybody not on an online message forum discuss this and even when it is discussed it's not a real conversation it's somebody trolling or a flame war.

More than you think. You forget this is an internet centric world nowadays and this type of shyt spreads faster than ever. When it boils down to it, no one wants to pay more or equal for less. Couple that with the Xbox Suits PR blunders (reinforced last year by retailers, internet, cats at Gamestop), word was out fam.
Some people may not care about "Ps" and shyt (of course if the situation was reversed it'd be another story), but no one wants to feel like they purchased inferior shyt. And the XB1 is a weaker system than the PS4. Is it weak enough to make someone who grew up on Xbox change "sides". Probably not, but there were MANY who were pissed off at the direction/vision of the Xbox last year. That shyt they tried to pull was straight out of a corporate meeting and exposed MS for what they were clearly trying to do. Those Deebo practices they used to make Windows what it is today aren't gonna work now and they're still stuck in that mindset on far too many things as a whole. They think they can come in the game after the fact and slide in policies and shyt, throw money at shyt, and sometimes bully mufukkaz in order to make their shyt the dominant product. They came late in the game with videogames, phones, portable music players, etc. and the only one that really made a dent was the Xbox brand. And they can thank Sony for the PS3 price out of the gate for that shyt.
Bottom line is that many care more than you think. Mufukkaz are online and shyt on their phones, tablets, all the time and these things are talked about. It's a different day and age now
