I want to step my boxing knowledge up

I never really watched boxing except with my pops and I never had more than a casual knowledge of the game. Can yall point me in the right direction of some quality matches, fighters to look out for etc.

As a sidenote I was reading this boxing manga and it centers around a boxer that is "in fighter" with no outside game at all. Do people actually succeed with that? Counter punchers always appealed to me more

Fighters need to have some type of outside game but a lot of fighters have made careers of strictly in fighting like Auturo Gotti and Micky Ward. Duran was a hellacious in fighter but could really do any style well.

I know those channels exist with fights but I didn't know who was who outside of the big names. I legit loaded up fight night and started finding names like that. I didnt know there were channels with in depth commentary tho. Thanks to all those that contributed

Watch every televised fight if you can. Supplement that by watching the older classic fights people are suggesting. I think it's useful to watch trash fights/fighters too just to understand what doesn't work in boxing as well. My wife went from basically knowing nothing about boxing to knowing basically all the current fighters and the different nuances by watching with me over the last 4-5 yrs. It's pretty easy to get up to speed with boxing imo

I basically started off at square one when I first started to read this forum. I definitely recommend you read the main boxing thread daily to stay updated on the latest news, and you'll begin to see who the current stars or rising prospects are.

Keep an eye on the fight threads being made, which will help you keep track of dates for notable upcoming fights.

What makes this place dope is that it's lowkey vetted -- we don't get random weirdos popping up, so this place does produce noteworthy and reliable discussions. A lot of good knowledge in each individual poster on here, so you might be surprised at the insights and responses you come across on here.
