I figured that was the case. Just would like to finish the main quests and side quests without going into the DLC yet

I actually would reccomend doing a couple of them before you finish the main quest (particularly Project Anchorage and The Pitt) They add unique perks, weapons, and armor to your character that makes finishing the main quest that much more fun. One DLC can't be triggered until after you finish the main quest though. I think it's the Broken Steel one, which is probably my favorite.

Ok ill have to explore more to find those side quests. I've done other side quests though. I finished the Replicated Man (never found dude, but told the scientist he was dead and showed him the microchip), Those!, TennPenny Tower, Power of the atom, Blood ties and some others. fukk me I just saw the Strictly Business one and I can't enslave Arkansas because I already killed him :beli:

 I told you. In your defense, I think he's the crazy sniper at the schoolyard, right?

But yeah a few of those like The Replicated Man have more rewarding finishes but they take more time to complete. Hopefully the guide helps you out.

i bought the goty during the steam summer sale. played about 4 hours. after i got out of the vault, i went exploring and came across a city infested with fire breathing ants. i tried to get out and dodge, but these motherfukkers were everywhere. i knew i shouldn't have followed that dumbass boy into the city :smh:

im like the op, the game seems cool, but hella time consuming. i don't even know how to use the vat too

Yeah those fire ants at the start are too strong for you. You have to go to Megaton...I am assuming you at least did that.

I know how to play Bethesda games!

If you can't tell the difference between a normal city with quests, and random city filled with raiders then obviously you don't. It's like going in a cave, being attacked by Forsworn and asking "why am I being attacked on sight :dwillhuh:". You should know how to tell the difference between enemies, and helpful NPCs.

i think me and the op came into fallout thinking it was like skyrim where you could easily roam anywhere without getting involved in the main story. i actually dig the landscape more because im a more of a sci fi fan. guess ill go back to my save when i just got out the vault :shaq2:

In Fallout it's quite rare to find friendly cities. There might be less than 10 friendly settlements in the entire game.

They just throw you in, the only thing that'll help you out is just doing main quests, but if you don't know what you're doing it's quite frustrating. Game had me scared shook though when I ran into a Giant Radscorpion early into my first playthrough :sadcam:
