He had no weaknesses in his game. 3 level scorer, great passer, defender. His problem was the sticky green

He did have a weakness in his game. The 317 techs and 29 ejections say that. That's called being a liability in any sport.

You can have all the skill and all the physical advantages in the world. But if you cannot keep it together mentally when things don't go your way in game an athlete will never fulfill their potential.

So Draymon never reached his full potential???

Ppl don't really understand the intricacies of hoops

Hoops is not a sport where you can just look at the #s even though most of you are conditioned to do just that

Sheed gave all the best bigs problems on both sides

You'll never hear KG, Duncan, Dirk, Shaq, C. Webb, anybody disrespect Sheed

He was arguably one of the top 3-4 man to man on ball defenders in the league, he could switch on guards, he was unselfish, a willing passer, could post up, shot threes, QB a defense, post moves galore

The lakers lost in 04 bc of Sheed...his presence alone killed us

#PhillyProduct
Where would that make him top 5 tho. Even if he gave those players issues he wasn’t better

Sheed stays getting overrated based off the potential that he never reached.

I don't know why cats keep mythologizing his ability as if we didn't see him play in real time.

More importantly, there's absolutely no need to be disrespectful of Giannis like that when he's already proven to reach heights that Sheed never did. He could've just said Sheed would be great in today's league and kept it to that.

Once we start creating mythological versions of players that didn’t actually exist in real life, the plot is lost

And that’s why these conversations are pointless.

Rasheed would probably be worse in this era
Probably couldn't even get on the court nobody wants a headcase who is clearly not playing his hardest.

Who is a Sheed like big man in the league today? Somebody who puts up 18 and 8 but clearly has the skill and talent to be way better but for whatever reason decides not to, on top of getting a bunch of stupid fouls and techs? Can't think of one player and that's cause they all been phased out of the league.

In this day and age of legal ganja.
The press would not have been able to portray him like they did.
Plus, teams would have respected his talent.
in the origibal three headed monster they jagged in washington.
Perception would have been different. It would be post corona. So no one would say shyt about his hair as well.

If y'all know Sheed's story, you would know why he's so unselfish

Even though he was the most dominant big as a HS senior, he only played half of each game bc of his coach...he wasn't allowed to avg 30 in HS, he was conditioned to be a team player

Sheed's skillset is what I would always point to...Sheed with Kobe's mindset is absolutely on the same level as KG and Duncan

Sheed is still one of the best bigs of his era

The most likely outcome is he’d settle into being a worse shooting version of Myles Turner in today’s NBA.

Rasheed was a 33% 3pt shooter (which is kinda trash) and 46% from the field, as a big who couldn’t facilitate out the post, could barely put the ball on the floor despite staying perimeter, and regressed to just 2 post moves (really, it was always dribble dribble, spin baseline) by the time he joined Detroit at 29 years old. Most importantly, he didn’t want to get better. :manny:

17, 7, 2 career as a blazer

13, 7, 2 career as a piston

Even his peak Blazer days, Karl Anthony Towns was a far better offensive player and rebounder, with a better motor… which is hilarious because the coli kills KAT for being soft and passive. Sheed gets grace bc he played for small markets and crashed out into a fortunate situation with a ready-built Pistons where he could just be a gassed up Myles Turner

Look at that long range and mid range game with more athletic ability in the post. He just didnt have the playmaking skills. Dudes dont watch basketball these nba champions not talking out their ass. Sheed was the real deal

He could have been like Jokic without the skills that make Jokic Jokic :pachaha:
