Out of all the names Art Barr mentioned, only AMG qualify as wack to me. 2nd II None is dope no doubt. Hi-C is hit or miss, he had some good songs on his own and some really bad. But he was always good when dropping a verse on a DJ Quik song. Quik also put on Suga Free and Mausberg, that's two big names you did not mentioned.
You can't put Quik down because he was good to his homies, even though they weren't great rappers. Atleast he did something for them. I get your point though

Now to me, DJ Quik is simply the dopest producer in hip hop. Then again, you can't discuss tastes. You either like or you don't. I hate people who state their opinions as facts. (Not talking about anybody in particular in this thread)

Quik has put out timeless classics. Quik has made his own sound and his claps and basslines are still sampled to this day. Quik's run at Death Row was under his real name so a lot of people are unaware of the work he did on 'Ambitionz Az A Ridah', 'Skandalouz', '2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted', 'Heartz of Men', etc.
If anyone in hip hop iz underrated, it is DJ Quik, just listen to the song he did for Game's album that just came out.
The new West respects him, look at Kendrick Lamar sampling 'Get Nekkid' by Mausberg on 'King Kunta'.
Rhythm-Al-Ism is beyond hip hop, that is a classic ALBUM of any genre.
Kanye had the system pushing him out as a rapper/producer and of course, has the most mainstream rapper in his corner, Jay-Z.

DJ Quik has made his name himself.

@bigrodthe1 has heard my work before and is one of the og posters who remembers some of the beats I posted....When I was on SOHH I didn't post like I do now genius...because I was also playing football for USC....you can add that to my list of accolades that you so closely monitor....:russ:....
Yup I can co-sign this :salute: you were probably damn near one of the best producer I had heard back then...I'm talking Mainstream or underground. It was truly bad times on the net once you hung up the pads, Nabs disappeared and Jordan Davis became too drugged up too make good beats :mjcry:
