I didn’t even like the Certified album like that…

It’s crazy how he worked with Dead Prez, Talib Kweli, and gave Boosie one of his first major features on that album.

Mr. Collipark had a slept on run.

Gave us Ying Yang Twins and put on Soulja Boy

What a time. All I remember is my dad saying he went to a underground award show (may have been Florida) many many years ago and literally only south artists won :mjlol: He said that was the beginning of the take over

I wasn’t too impressed with it but loved the first album. The song was played all over the place, the demographic it was made for (hardcore club folks) didn’t really seem to care the lack originality. It was just another song on the dj set that they were going to twerk/grind to anyways.

Edit: And I still call “Mr. collipark” DJ Smurf

“Get Like Me” was fire and would’ve gone up more had it not been for the Rihanna situation

IT WENT OVER WELL

TURNED OUT TO BE
THE MOST SUCCESSFUL SONG
OF HIS CAREER....

:mjlol:AND ACTUALLY CHARTED HIGHER
THAN THE YING YANG SONG

Doesn't mean it was a better song especially in that era where labels could pay for those kind of accolades way easier than they can today without getting caught :manny:

The industry was still in the "We tell the people what we want them to listen to" era back then, plenty of wack shyt got played on repeat until we had the shyt memorized even if we didn't like it
