For some reason, Ricky was seen as 'the good one'... he was just a different kind of 'bad'. He was lazy, didn't take his education seriously, had a kid as a teen, and moms used to give him a pass for everything. He wasn't into crime but was just mad irresponsible and careless about everything but football. He didn't take anything seriously, so yeah, it made sense that he would die by not taking that situation seriously either.
