I watched Boomerang last night on netflix, and I have some questions.

Would you get with a woman, you felt was very special, if you knew it was going to have your best friend feeling some kind of way, to the point ruining the relationship?

And why THE fukk were they acting like prime time Halle Berry, wasn't shytting all over Robin Givens? Halle was looking like freedom back then, and they really tried to play her off as homely in that film.

Old-heads, did nikkas let that shyt slide, or was there outrage in theaters all over America?




Don't get me wrong, Robin was sexy af, but come on.

I remember when the movie dropped and saw it in the theaters.

Trust me when I tell you, the consensus has always been the Halle was the better looking between the two when people saw the movie.

I thought it was obvious in Boomerang though, that they specifically chose Halle because they needed someone to challenge Robin without having that mainstream attractive look to her for the purpose of the story. I think she was suppose to be the "girl next door" type.

Overall, I don't remember ANYONE claiming that Robin GIvens was even that attractive in the movie.

From what I can remember all ANYONE talked about after the movie--was how FINE Halle was and how funny the grandpop was. She was probably considered the most attractive "black" female in the early 90s after that role.

Halle then did "Queen" (this is around 1993 I think) and gained even more noteriety.


Either way, this movie brings back a lot of fond memories...that soundtrack with Tribe Called Quest song "Hot Sex on a Platter"

I never been a Robin Givens fan don't kill me. I was crushing on Halle in the movie from the start. Lela Rochon was my 2nd favorite.
