I was just about to post this. I needed to brush up on my math(didn't pay as much attention as I was supposed to in HS) and the fact that a resource like this is out there for FREE is mindboggling.

Math is beautiful aesthically - the ultimate branch of philosophy. That sense of accomplishment after solving a complex problem is unmatched
Practice.
I’ve been mulling over taking non-degree math courses and seeing how far I could advance.
It would be great to do it now because majority of adults stop excercising their brain power in any significant way past 30 and it could be a good way to keep your mind sharp and help stave off dementia.

I got u for slope intercept form.I’m getting better at inferential and descriptive stats but my stats majors be doing the most. Some of the shyt they be calculating by for shyts and giggles and I be like

nah, you are right. i go to a big math research school, and math professors have straight up told the class the same. most math research is straight up useless in terms of real life applications anywhere, and most definitely useless in day to day life.

Advanced Math theory is too complicated and abstract for the average person to grasp, including myself, so most people just don’t know what the fukk all of that shyt is. I’m glad it’s people out there who can used that shyt to make innovations and do engineering type shyt cause most can’t. Ever since I was a kid I used to get in trouble arguing with the teachers saying math is made up and I don’t understand this shyt lol. I would be like y’all can’t deny this shyt is made up. I probably ain’t too good at math cause I can’t get past the fact that it’s a system, but all the numbers and shyt were just invented one day.
in a lot of those advanced esoteric fields, even other researchers with PhDs in that same field can barely understand the papers. papers getting reviewed and approved only to find out years later it was math babble
