As a teacher you gotta deal with the triple threat parents, school admins, and kids. Too much for too little.

I usually hate when you talk about the south, Alabama in particular, but yes, this video is very much true. Down in Mobile, Saraland split from the county school district to create a school district bolstered by a powerful athletic department. So far they have produced Ryan Williams and KJ Lacey. This school district didn’t exist 12 years ago.
Let’s be real, a number of principals want teaching positions to be filled by the coaching staff; it allows the coaches to get full salary and coaching stipends, athletic classes to be led during the last period before afterschool practice, and let’s keep it real, coaches are not generally focused on pushing academic excellence.
Gotta wait 3 years after being certified.I admit I didn't know grade schools had teachers with tenure. I thought it was only a thing for professors in colleges and universities.
Oh shyt, Pinson Valley. That's whe re e Bo Nix went, I went to Hoover, we used to beat their ass religiously. Also I'm very familiar with Mike Turner, he's awful. A teacher there that I used to talk to, wanted me to come speak with kids there for a program they were having and the principal pretty much just wanted me to talk about my time as an athlete and the importance of athletics and keep engineering to a minimum. He wanted to introduce me as a 2 time all-state athlete pretty much just talk about my athletic accomplishments, not the fact that I'm in engineering and sports got me there. I told the teacher that asked me to come that he got former athletes from that school that can do that. I never went to school there so what was the point if all he wanted me to talk about was sports.

At least 2,000 credentialed school staff have received preliminary layoff notices before the March 15 state-mandated deadline, according to data from the California Teachers Association. Most of those holding pink slips are teachers.

It's gonna be that way everywhere with the DOE being gutted. They actually have programs specifically for special needs kids here in Bama, I know they have them in Georgia too. Federally funded programs at that, the DOE will make sure that's no longer the case.
