This is exactly it. They are willing to rationalize abuse of Black citizens because their priority is punishing immigrants. It's nuts.

I think the rationale is that black men already live under these conditions anyway. For instance the democratic mayor bowser of dc is assisting in a stop in frisk regime to stop “crime” but wants to stop assisting ICE. Either way I agree we should not cheerlead our rights being violated.

Most of them are. All you have to do is go back and look at that dc crime bill thread from 2022 or 2023. The same ones fear mongering about ICE were cheering on tough on crime against poor FBAs. The problem is Stephen miller and trump are white supremacist but moderate dems like bowser employ the same tactics to combat crime in fba communities. All of this produces apathy because our crime problems get dealt with in a heavy handed way by both sides.
