Dudes in here being technical by mentioning Ice T but if we being technical it was really Schooly D. I haven't watched the video and wish OP would have timestamped but Eazy E is the architect of gangster rap. NWA took that hardcore vulgar rap to levels neither Schooly D or Ice T ever did. Ice T was on a label that dropped him when things got too hot and he was made into a scapegoat for politicians during an election year. Eazy E was the label and he kept putting out the product he wanted to even after getting pressure from the FBI. Eazy E did it on a boss level.

I watched the video, Cube said nothing about Gangster Rap or LA Rap. He just said Eazy E was the architect of "this shyt" and that Eazy was the "mastermind behind all this" which can be open for interpretation, he didn't specify what that meant like the thread title suggests. Cube coulda been talking about his music career.
