No Vaseline didn't end NWA, they were already breaking up before that song. Cube said it himself in the past:

Whoomp Whoomp > No Vaseline

And I say this as someone who loves Cube.
Always wondered if you were a known known, probably the West Coast head I respect the most on here and that's no lie - going back to SoHH.

Shoutout Taadow aka KAM and I say that with LOVE :myman:

BESTCOAST REPRESENT

Edit: Cube is definitely right about Hit Em Up, Ether is actually quite close I feel like Nas studied NO VASELINE so I'll give the edge to Cube.

Hit em up is trash
I was gonna type this but I love Pac so much I refused to be objective and honest and just stayed silent, lol.

Hit Em Up is the most overrated diss record of all time. It's madd disrespectful...that's it really, without the shyt talking at the end it wouldn't even be a Top 20 diss joint,

Yea but…in theory wouldn’t the best most “vicious” diss END SOMEONE’S CAREER?
There are Biggie fans who still swear that 2pac is the reason Biggie died. So wouldn't ending a person's life be considered even more vicious than whatever effect No Vaseline is supposed to have had?

Regardless, Hit 'Em Up clearly had the best flow out of the three songs. That was arguably a weak point for the other two.

no vaseline was probably a huge moment during its time but in hindsight it does not match up with diss classic tracks that came out later, plus the whole metaphor used for the song was highkey :dame:, "he ended their careers" the group broke up but mc ren was the only person whos career suffered from the song and dre became bigger than cube a year later

If you don't have Ether as your #1 diss record, you just wasnt around at that time. Nothing is topping what that did
Hit em up was a gigantic record. it was by far the most brutal diss involving a mainstream artist and it's impact was enormous. Ether was a huge record too but at best they're close, but I think Hit em Up was bigger.
