Being older and wiser now, it's a little harder to admit this but yes, this ignorant Black on Black murder glorifying mess has always been ONE of my favorite Ice Cube joints. The whole Death Certificate album, period. And I've always found the portrayal of St. Louis back then so fascinating in contrast to what it has become today.

These days, L.A. nikkas(or anybody from ANYWHERE for that matter) wouldn't DREAM of rolling into STL hoods with such bravado talking about taking over somebody's block lol. STL has been one of the most violent cities in America for a lonnnng time now.

These days when I hear this song I like to think that it actually played a role in STL becoming as violent as it became shortly afterwards. Almost like this song put a chip on the shoulders of STL nikkas from that day forward and they've been turnt up extra violent ever since. I'm sure that's not particularly true, just my own little bit of imaginary "lore" to go along with the song. Dope video rendition though.
