Chris has always been a little suspect cuz he kept changing his story on why he didn't want to come back and play Smokey. It was religious reasons, then later on it was because he wasn't paid enough for the first, then he said he didn't want to do the same thing over despite doing 3 Rush Hour films that he had no problem cursing in.

He got a taste of that Rush Hour/5th Element money and wanted to change up audiences. Seemed like Cube predicted the future with "True to the Game"

Where did you hear it made 1/2 billion? It made around $30 million. Which is great for an R rated film in 1995, but not some world beater.

They are actors, a job is a lick. They hit a lick with Friday and should have been able to parlay that look into more work (which a lot of them did). Cube offered more money to all the returning actors because he had more money to give them for the budget. He doesn't owe them anything, the look was being casted in a cult classic movie. Cube and the producers took all the risk, if the shyt flopped nobody would've had a problem with what they were paid and Cube would've took a L.

All of the actors in the MCU got paid peanuts upfront compared to what those movies grossed (and many were established actors already). Why is there only smoke for Cube?

I've heard stories about A listers doing the same with new directors and just settling for points/some type of credit and then laugh to the bank when the project is successful
