I get ice cube point but the movie was unintentionally beyond successful and it would’ve been the right thing to do to help those actors after doing so well. I read somewhere it made over half a Billie, that’s amazing, a $20k check for the cast would’ve been more than enough

I'd argue if you were born 1990 and earlier then Big Worm is an iconic role to.African Americans.
Hell naw
:mjlol:

In that case Bruh Man from the 5th floor and Sam Jackson as the robber in Coming to America are iconic
:dead:
Hood classic, nothing more...

Jamie in Ray is iconic, Denzel as Malcolm is iconic, Whoopi in Color Purple, etc....

And that was supposed to come out of Cube’s pocket? Thats NOT how business works and there’s absolutely no way the studio, you know the entity that actually pays the actors is reaching back and giving out “job well done” payments.

You don't even have to go that far.

Deebo is even more iconic than big worm.

Watching the Comedy Hype interview Cube offered him scale again. He passed on it and then he got a call for The Replacements a week later for 100k. Cant be mad at him.

I'd be curious how much he got paid for 3 Strikes though since that its in the same wheelhouse.

The movie made Big worm not the other way around. And I'm sure Faizon got hella looks afterwards because of it. That was his bonus payment right there.

20k out of whose pockets? Cube's? The director's? :mjtf:

Faizon agreed to 2500. The man had a few lines in the movie so why is he getting $20k?

Felicia getting $20k too for a bit part?

They didn't write, produce, edit or do any behind the scenes work so they don't get paid more. They don't get back end money because it's not in their contracts.

Actors take roles in low budget movies to hopefully raise their profile and get more roles. They want a bigger payday tell their agent to find their next project.

This is how the business works. Stop acting like people gotta hook somebody up outside of what's negotiated.

I mean it all worked out well to me. There wouldn’t have been any point to bring Big Worm back. 3 movies 3 different Villains. I mean worm was cool, but I didn’t miss him in the other Friday movies.

It's the unfair standards for black film makers because I swear if this was a white owned production company you wouldn't hear a peep from the film makers or the actors involved as they wouldn't want to upset Hollywood

Anyone with 2 eyes can see what Friday was. A low budget film that way overdid production cost. There were many films like that, that didn't pop. That one just happened to strike gold. Actors in those positions should know that not much money is coming from that but the hopes is to get the exposure for more opportunities which happened for a lot of the Actors in that film. I agree with cube he didn't rob anyone. You just got people coming back in hindsight wishing cube hooked them up on the "brotha man brotha man" shyt but none of them would have demanded that from a white company.
