He is right and it was obvious. I dont know how stating that shyt became synonymous with being a c00n or anti-black.

Music is one of the most powerful tools humans have developed. It is scientific fact that music helps humans learn and remember important information but somehow nikkas think that only applies to positive behaviors. It applies to negativity as well and thats all this music is pumping out now. You barely have any options other than extreme violence, drugs, or explicit sex. Its foolish to expect children to listen to that garbage all day and it not affect their mind.

Facts...this simple.

This is one dumbass post and I hope it’s sarcasm. Crime was actually worse during the so-called “gospel and soul music” era. Heroin plagued our communities. Y’all are so fukking simple minded.
They are not serious people. A lot of these posters see the world though the eyes of overgrown children:francis:

Y'all still pushing conspiracy theories. This ain't COINTELPRO.
A theory is just a theory until it’s proven. This isn’t even that wild of a theory. There were documents you can look up on the fbi website about the use of sound/frequencies to influence behavior .

His concern is theres no balance with today's era. Alot of these nikkahs today stand for nothing but clout, attention, the bag, and white validation.

The content is no different but guys like Cube, UGK, Scarface, Eiht, Pac provided many sides to the game which also relatable to us . plus it scared the government. CACs aint losing no sleep worrying about nikkas like Lil Uzi Vert or Trippie redd because they stand on nothing.

This!

When you are previously uneducated or uneducated in music it shapes you. Whether it is Quran sudras, nursery rhymes, ABC’s and continent songs, ONLY playing murder rap or NS Black Metal. People who are educated in music do not listen to music the same as consumers. People educated in music call out things, can divorce lyrics from the rhythm and harmony easier and know what actual taste is, thus are less susceptible to being influenced by it in a negative way because they can analyze it with surgical précision. A more ignorant person is more likely to be negatively influenced, but also positively influenced if they are being fed music by a diverse enlightened individual . A less ignorant person becomes John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington etc

Encourage? Yes, it definitely does for the most part in that it makes it sound cool or like an every day thing. But again, Ice Cube is part of the problem.
Hate when rap nikkas wanna boost that gangsta rap shyt then, cry about it when shyt doesn’t go their way it’s dis genuine.

What is this smart shyt?

Without hip-hop a little known cough syrup concoction that was not taken anywhere outside Texas would never have made it nationwide/worldwide.

Several rappers I'm talking some of today's biggest young mainstream rappers like Juice WRLD and A boogie are on record saying they started taking pills because of Future.

Hip-Hop can sell all types of things through brand placement cars, champagne, clothing brands, but can't influence people to do drugs :dead:

Future, Lil Wayne, and a host of others have been long running unpaid spokesmen for Actavis, Wockhardt, and various pharmaceutical companies.

Exactly. I think people would be able to see it more. If they look at from a lense of not trying to find hiphop completely liable. It can be more like a Butterfly Effect in some situations.

Maybe rap influenced a young man to sell drugs. And two dudes who already rob(not influenced by rap),kill the young man knowing he was an easy lick.

Or a young man who already carries a gun(not influenced by hiphop),is influenced by hiphop to take pills. He pops pills and shoots somebody one night.

Carrying a gun around to defend yourself,in a vaccum is pretty harmless. And every young generation experiments with drugs and alchohol. In a vacuum its considered a harmless teen activity. But when you start adding in poverty, paranoia, lack of emotional intelligence, ego and machismo that already exist in many hood environments(some because of hiphop). Its like a chain reaction of sorts.

Hiphop introduces more variables with potential for disaster. Into communities where that potential is already high.

So realistically,if the environment was better, the influence of the music would be less harmful. But why introduce more variables and trap doors into an already potentially dangerous life? I dont think anybody holds hiphop completely responsible.

:stopitslime:Man, where’s the damn lie? I was expecting some c00ning with y’all wild ass takes. All he said was record companies use hip hop to influence degenerate behavior. Which is TRUE, they do. William Cooper said the same shyt in 1991. Dr. Frances Cress Welsing said similar shyt in the 1970s. Is it the SOLE purpose for crime? No. No one’s stating that it is. But it IS being used as a tool to regress and further devalue and devastate our community, that is a fact. That’s why once The Chronic was in, that pro-black shyt was on it’s way out.

“But we used to wear turbans, but now we're in the urban
No more wearing beanies and dress like a genie”- Killah Priest, 1995

“No medallions, dreadlocks or black fists
It's just that gangsta glare with gangsta raps”- Let Me Ride,
nikka was bold and took pride with saying that shyt. That’s some shyt that Jimmy Iovine and them nikkas from the top told him to say. Can’t convince me otherwise.

The Day The nikkaz Took Over was probably his most conscious record tho along with Lil Ghetto Boy, but still, “gangsta” rap made hip hop international, you can’t dispute that.
But how did that help the collective of Black people?
