The primary consumer of rap music is white kids.
And? None of those whites were under the delusion that music was about them. It was "about blacks." They consumed it then discarded it like horror films or Italian mob movies.
The crime rate and drug usage dropped during the entire period that hip hop rose to prominence in the mid to late 90s and into the 2000s.
Decades ago, for a period, crime went down nationally across all demographics so everything is all good? What kind of logic is this?
I don’t post in here but anyone mentioning music as any of the top 20 reasons for anything negative happening in a community is uninformed or lazy at best and disingenuous at worst.
No. What's lazy is pretending one of the most popular art forms in America (and the world) primarily putting out degeneracy about your Black brothers and sisters has absolutely no effect on anything.

And this is coming from a fan of hip hop. But I know what it is and the damage the worst parts of it has done.

I stick with drill as I dont think that shyt should've ever started. But I remember when mass/school shooters came about and how people didnt want their manifestos/content to be exposed in the media in fear of copycats yet nobody ever uses the same logic here where it makes sense to keep it underground to prevent copycats of king von, foolio, lil Jeff.

People will justify rappers peddling filth on wax non stop for years to their kids for the same reason people dont snitch on drug pushers openly hustling on the corner..
Same mindset.

We are supposed to shut up and mind our own business when a Black man is making money, no matter how detrimental his money making is to his entire immediate community and beyond, with effects lasting generations in some cases.
Its why rampant corruption has been allowed to fester in Black countries too.

We dont do fukk all about a bad situation we can all see and hope it goes away on its own :francis:

If you dumb enough to be a domestic terrorist to your own community, then you deserve the white man's jail cell..

You gotta be a dumb muthafukka to watch/listen to anything negative and then decide, "Hey that's cool, and that's what I should be doing".

This means that we are pretty much children and we have immaturity issues. I don't blame violent games, music or tv/cinema...I blame the stupid MUTHAfukkAS and the women who love bad boys who are encouraging this behavior.
Of course.

But if WE don’t have in tact communities that push back against the imagery and show impressionable youth that those images aren’t real examples, you end up little children emulating music artists.

It’s always amazing to me that men can see how the slutty female rappers we have are can influence young black women, but don’t think male rappers have ever influenced black male youth culture.

Why tf did everyone think they needed to be a rapper or athlete to make it out the hood? Because that’s what was pushed to our community in particular. I’ve already said it before— every young Black man 18-30 could go work for ups or FedEx, get a CDL, etc and that one act would transform our community in one damn generation.
Other communities come here and do that shyt overnight.

There is literal social programming going on and you now even have a prominent artist- CUBE— admitting it.

True, but we also went and copied our favorite rappers style of dress and speech growing up as kids.
They were cool to us, and thus influential.

Not everyone will fall victim of course, but the constant media bombardment of criminality leading to fast gained material excess and wealth being beamed daily to Black youth over radio, cd and television will convince some that's the path to take.

The same way back in the days it was reported positively that "A Different World" led to an increase in Black college enrolment because of how popular the show was at depicting Black college life..but somehow when it comes to hiphop we have to move the goal posts like its an Israeli operation:pachaha:

This topic is dumb because no one is changing their minds and it’s just a conduit to restate the same things you’ve already said before despite having no new evidence to support. Meanwhile Ice Cube is MAGA adjacent and anti-vax so he’s not exactly someone who traffics in facts.
Breh, WHITE KIDS LOOK AT HIP HOP AS A MINSTREL SHOW.

It’s fukking ENTERTAINMENT to them.

Are white kids watching other white kids rap about drugs, guns, bytches, babymommas, etc?
NO.
They are watched BLACK PEOPLE do those things.

They are watching “dancing monkeys” on stage and then they go home to their mom and dad, house with a two-three car garage, university course work and then they graduate and pretend they never listened to Hiphop by the time they turn 26.

You cannot be serious.

Come holla at me when the white label execs push white girls into the mainstream who act like SexyyRed

Life
Because beer companies thread a needle that cigarette companies did not. For example, most beer companies don't feature anyone drinking at all. You'll see people holding beers, you'll even see beers being poured but rarely if ever will you see people featured drinking them. I personally think beer commercials should be banned but that's neither here nor there.
If they have FanDuel commercials on tv, alcohol and tobacco should be allowed

Honestly you can't compare drill rappers to drug dealers. To be an acceptable drill rapper, you have to actively be involved in drills aka murders, attempts don't count they say.. You can sell drugs and not harm anyone. People who buy drugs are making a conscious decision to so.

You see it.

There is no other racial group where their primary image pushed out to the world is music glorifying drugs, fast money, criminality, whores, etc.

This shyt was done by design but again, some men leaned into it and got PAID, and when they get that money they move far away from Black folks lol

People act like all the science and common sense observations we can see about the nature of influence and environment go out of the window when we are discussing music/hip hop. If you know you know. No point in engaging with people that dont want to change their mind

I'm not tryna hear that...these MUTHAfukkAS got teachers and educators....and all black kids have access to education to see those that look like them daily, that aren't career criminals...even if you come from a fukked up environment your school teacher is proof you ain't gotta live like that.

We are too comfortable making excuses and excusing behavior.

Art is art and sometimes it's fiction and sometimes it isn't. That take intelligence to know the difference.

I got gangbangers all up in my family, and guess who didn't become one? My fat black crippled ass...you know why?

Playing dodgeball with bullets and being harassed by cops daily ain't fun. Seeing a chain-gang from Angola ain't fun.

But then again I had an IQ of 120 so I'm not a dumbass lmao...I can't speak on them other muthafukkas

I didn't. Lol y'all were impressionable as fukk, which is a problem in the black community..

You should've had other people to look up to not degenerative musicians. This is exactly the shyt Malcolm X said about black celebrities. The y push anti black community ideologies.
