Y’all missing the big picture in your rush to tear down a black man.

why is it that ICE CUBE a rapper has to be the one to speak up and try and negotiate with presidential candidates to get an agenda specifically for black people?

why isn’t any of the black media heads, black politicians, black professors, black billionaires doing this? Why is Ice Cube the one to lead the charge? That ain’t insane to you?

he’s a rapper not an economist. Of course he’s gonna sound stupid. But y’all in here giggling getting led to a slaughter. Biden gonna prioritize immigrants, lgbt, Latinos and Asians over us and then we will see what’s funny.

I’m in the top 1% of black households I’m gonna be good. I’m fighting for my kids and y’all negroes.

People have to understand a lot of these entertainers aren’t c00ning when they make political statements (some do), they just are entertainers and not scholars at the end of the day. They don’t be knowing what the fukk they talking about. But that’s the gift and curse of social media. Everyone has a voice, but it’s easy for misinformation to spread when a celebrity like Cube with a mass following makes political statements. He means well, but doesn’t even know his own points. He not c00ning like Harvey and Kanye. He legit cares but is really naive and not using his brain honestly. So many times we ask where are our black scholars or whomever speaking out for us? Many of them are, but we give so much credence to black celebrities that we often drown them out. Black Celebs are used as pawns on a chess board. Ice cube a real one. But he being used and don’t realize it because of his emotions

I like how we're all ignoring the fact that Steve Harvey met with trump in 2016 with a plan for black people too and Trump didn't do shyt for the next 4 years.

Steve Harvey did come out later and said that Trump dismissed a lot of the shyt of what he was saying and used him for a photo op

He's the one they'll listen and talk to because they can use his dumbass for his influence to get black votes...plenty of black scholars are willing to meet with politicians but instead Trump chose Steve Harvey and Kanye West and we seen how that turned out yet Cube thinks he'll reason with him because Trump cares about black folks problems :mjlol:

The Land That Time Forgot
This is an example of the dumbing down of america that I always talk about. The foolish and I mean foolish population expects entertainers to speak on behalf of them for every issue. Take up a cause and figure out a resolution.

In the past the population only expected entertainers to stand in solidarity and financially contribute with the cause.

No one expected Ali to go down to the white house and work with nixon on how to pull troops out of Vietnam. No one expected dikk gregory to lead the civil rights movement. No one said hey Pam Grier should be the leader of the women rights movement.

This is due to the elevated result of immaturely insisting for 30 years that entertainers and athletes "speak out"..."use their platforms"..."take a stand."

So now, we do have many of them, who have done scant amounts of reading, studying, listening, analyzing anything beyond what they do for a living in the studio, in front of the camera, on the court, on the field -- now serving as as default, leading Black public policy makers.

They have become ex officio representatives of Black people for local, state, and federal governments -- mostly because no one else is doing an effective job, and have not demonstrated possessing a meaningful constituency like the rappers and ballers do.

reparations is a ghost policy. We can dream and pray about it until the cows come home. Thats why with only 24 hours in a day and a few breaths left in your body, you have to seriously figure out how you want to spend your time pursuing things to better black society.

Thats why serious people chase other policies that target the black community in ways that will actually get passed.

You can't even get most democrats in congress on board. AT that point you have to find another end run

And frankly let me be clear...I'm actually an elitist when it comes to this political shyt. People lionize the civil rights era but things had standards back then. Anyone and everyone couldn't be out here running their mouths and talking shyt without doing the work. Things are not TOO accessible. Its too easy for come-lately's like Cube to get in the mix and start working with the enemy without understanding WTF he's doing. Theres nothing wrong with reaching out to republicans to move the needle, but Cube is uneducated, uninformed, misinformed, and ill equipped to tackle the nuances of republicans who will easily spin him and unaware of what democrats are actually doing that overlaps with what most of what he's doing. Cube doesn't know shyt and I demand more of people who claim to represent my interests whose only claim to fame are rap albums. The dearth of black leadership outside of entertainment has fooled people into thinking these entertainers are quality substitutes for astute and expert tacticians.

Leave this amateur shyt alone and stop trying to lower the bar of what we should tolerate from our spokespeople.

This is no better than Cardi B talking with Joe Biden.

Ben Dixon keeping it a buck.

No wonder the Biden campaign ain't take him seriously... they aint wanna shyt on him and break his little ego. This is shameful.

"the republican party has not changed, they're still using those same tactics to toot and wave at white supremacy. donald trump does it all the time, i have no time to vote f- I don't fukk with white supremacists!
i don't care if people talk about it's a tactic or the idea or don't put all your eggs in one basket. i'm not giving my egg to no goddamn fox especially.. especially when the egg is my offspring

Above the fray.
Are you purposely playing stupid?
Uh, no and that's the second time that dumb/stupid is being used in a discussion about things that can be measured.

It's trendy to say that no progress has been made since the CRM, but it's not accurate. People can believe that the process hasn't been rapid enough, but they cannot say that progress hasn't been made.

How many here are first generation college graduates in your families? The Stats suggest that many here would be ,as the % of college graduates have gone from under 10% in the 60s to over 22% now.
How many here run a business? Again, the stats suggest that many here do, as the number and % of Black business owners has increased I will try to find the actual stats.
I also believe that the % of homeownership has increased since 60s, and will look for that stat.

Disingenuous to say that progress hasn't been made in the past 50 years.
