Fam, the majority of Cube's diss weren't threats. Almost none of it was. Only threat he made was if Eazy E cut his hair he'd cut off his balls. The rest of it was him dismantling the crew and breaking down why everything they say is fraudulent and how they're being raped out of their money and them being wack now, and sellouts. And he didn't say he was gonna put a bullet in Jerry Heller's head, he said that's what the NWA should do because he's robbing them. Have you even heard the song? Doesn't sound like it.

Did you read my entire post? I referenced all the personal and financial shyt in No Vaseline. You just did what I just did with the Plies shyt

I've heard it hundreds of times. Over the past 23 years. On tape, CD and vinyl.

And what did you expect P to do? Contrary to what you said, he referenced him getting robbed and raped (which was probably the extent of the information he had on him) and threatened him.

Cube was oddly indirect about the Jerry Heller thing - maybe threat isn't the best way to describe it - but if someone made a song about how other people should shoot me in the head - I'd take that as a threat.

Jada is the shyt. But he don't got any classics, let alone a seminal album like the Infamous. Cube definitely wins the impact argument - but you are sorely downplaying Mobb Deep's impact during their run. They were the face of grimy NY hip hop from 95-99 and they had Gangstarr levels of respect and integrity during that time. As hip hop was going to shyt - they stayed true to their music. And they personified dirty grimy street hip hop like no one else in NY (probably the country) during their run. Mobb was not local. Yes they debuted (for the second time) at a time when hip hop was regional but even then they were felt nationwide. Like you said - that boom bap sound extends beyond the East Coast. And in 99 they went plat with Murda Muzik and the Quiet Storm remix was huge. Hip hop was far less regional at that point. Plus that album recently went double plat which means it probably sold at least 1.5 mil during its run.

Also - have you actually heard Mobb's music?

Being the face of grimy NY hiphop during the flossy shiny suit era is considered impact....I remember DMX bringing in a new wave and bringing grimy shyt and the streets back,and Mobb Deep was nowhere to be seen unless you check for NY hiphop like that.....Its people who check for NY hiphop across the country and the world and that's all they really fukk with,backpacker nikkas....to me Prodigy has never appealed to people outside that demographic....Sure that's a impact but its a footnote compared to Cube,so to even mention it in a debate vs Cube is to overstate it

And yes ive heard the Mobb Deep group material people call classic,and ive checked a couple Prodigy solo joints on the strength of Alchemist and I cant hate on the production....but I don't get the Prodigy hype,he's serviceable as an emcee to me but that's where it stops.
