Thing is this doesn't apply strictly to movies either. I was at the library in my hood. and all the books they got on display, Are basically urban lit. "Am I my sisters keeper" "Down Ass Chick Vol 2." etc... and don't get me wrong. there are some dope ass authors in the urban lit category. So I'm not knocking that. BUT. I mean come the fukk on. So anyways I googled most of the day trying to find Black Sci fi or African American Futurism novels. And guess what it's not a lot out there. Even worse. It's not a lot of Black male authors. I'm willing to bet almost all black authors are 80% female. We have to do better, and we need to dream more.
