Was my favorite player in his prime, but he's overrated. A glorified singles hitter amd really wasnt aggressive on the bases. But I haven't watched a baseball gm since Pedro retired :ehh:

Ichiro is a freak of nature man. Is he planning on retiring,at the end of the year?
He hasn't hinted at retirement yet.

But you gotta think if he gets to 3,000 this year that's a pretty good way to go out.
He turns 43 years old in October and while he's not expensive, at some point the Marlins are going to give Ichiro's platoon position to someone else.

I mean Stanton, Yelich and Ozuna don't figure to go anywhere soon.
But a backup outfielder isn't hard to find. There's not a need for a 43 year old one...unless Ichiro keeps hitting like he is this season.

I could see the Mariners signing Ichiro to a 1-day contract so he retires with them in the offseason.
