It's funny, Towns does everything Embiid does, and probably better.

But Embiid just plays a better game on both ends of the floor, and is a constant impact on the game, and for some reason that's not always true with Towns. Maybe it's because Embiid is slightly taller? :jbhmm:

Towns isnt a better defender in fact sometimes he looks very Andre Drummond-ish defensively, taking silly risks and having mental mistakes...

I know KG was a big help for him but KAT's defensive regression from last year is crazy to see.

Because he's from a upper middle class family, he didn't grow up poor like Ibaka and didn't need to lie about his age. Plus, he looked like this in 2011 -

embidd2.jpg

Obviously a young kid. A lot of his health problems were probably from growing too quickly in a short period of time, he went from 6'8 to 7'2" in 4 years.

So basically , Cacs said he's alright so nobody questions it ? Got you

so you taking Towns:usure:

Maybe I missed you making your choice:mjgrin:

Right now...without question...

So you a GM...and you got to get the franchise player right...otherwise you are going to be out of a job when you finish bottom 5 in wins 3 years straight...

And you telling me...you going to avoid doing that...by selecting a guy who has played in 29 games in 3 years :usureusure:

The Sixers are 3rd in the league at guarding the rim, that's with Ersan Illyasova, Sergio Rodriguez, Nik Stauskas and Tj McConnell playing major minutes. The Wolves are 24th in the league.

The Sixers are 12th in defensive rating, the Wolves are 23rd. Since December 1st, the Sixers have the 5th best defense in the league, the Wolves are 21st in that same time period.

Embiid is a defensive anchor, he could win multiple DPOY awards in the future while also pouring in the same type of offense as KAT. They don't do the same things, one is a monster on defense, the other isn't very good at it right now. Also, another underlooked aspect of Embiid is the sheer amount of pressure he puts on opposing frontcourts, in 25mpg he goes to the line 8 times, in 36mpg KAT goes there 5 times.

:wtf:

You're comparing him to Tyreke Evans? Bruh, the major difference between them and why people are saying they'd pick him over Towns is because of this -

On the season the Sixers have a 99 defensive rating when he's on the floor. If Tyreke Evans could play Kawhi Leonard level defense, yeah people would be picking him over damn near everyone, Joel plays defense on par with Rudy Gobert while having the offense of elite centers. Towns isn't on the same level as him on defense, they aren't even in the same galaxy as far as defense goes. This is a DPOY level defensive anchor that can give you 30.....

I'm comparing him to Tyreke Evans because his rookie year people were already projecting him to be a top 5 player in the league...and then he has spent the rest of his career scoring 15 - 17 ppg while his skills never developed and constantly being hurt...

Joel is great and has a ton of potential but 29 played games in 3 years is a novelty act...

When he does this while playing 70 + games in back to back years I will return and worship at the alter of Joel...

But 29 games over two and a half season...nah...we don't get hype over that in harlem:chattyguurrrlll:

Also you better start paying attention to Dwayne Dedmon ...don't think spurs nation hasn't noticed how you abandoned swag antonio big men after Dungawd retired:ufdup:

My 27 year old Jehovah Witness Stephen Jackson Aaron Brooks love child looking center WILL be a top 5 defensive big man as soon as we kick Pau out the door next year:ufdup:

He's already pretty much taken Pau's crunch time minutes...

This is in no way comparable to Evans, this is an elite two way player, there's literally nothing teams can do to stop him from doing the things he's doing...he's 7'2" 280lbs. Evans was playing for numbers on a bad team and had no impact on the outcome of games, Embiid is having an actual impact on wins and losses. As long as he's healthy, that is the key phrase with Embiid, if he is healthy and on the floor he is going to be the dominant force in the league.

The Great One left us, and in return he gave us the Young Gawd who wears his number in honor.

The great one was great for two decades...I don't know if I'm down to pass his torch yet to a guy who has been great for 29 games :francis:

I have no doubts he will get there...I just need him to turn that 29 games into say 150 games over the next two years...:ehh:

And don't think for one second you off the hook for ignoring Dwayne Dedmon:ufdup:

Wait until we play philly this year:ufdup:

Hopefully we give Pau the night off that game:mjcry:

He is the rightful heir, no other young big man provides the two way potential of the Young Gawd.

I don't need to see more than 29 games, he won't become worse as long as he stays healthy, we're talking about a dude that adds things to his game pretty much every night. DeMarcus Cousins hit him with a rip through move, guess what he does now? Uses rip throughs. Gobert was going vertical against him, now he does the same thing, he is the Shang Tsung of bigs, whatever you use against him that works he will then do.

The talent has always been undeniable, health is the only question with him.

Dwayne is not the heir to the throne, good player having a career year, but we're talking about heirs to the Great One, and Embiid is that.

Anthony Davis is good, but his game is too finesse. He seems mentally checked out at times, also.

I saw PJ Tucker shut him down by getting physical with him.

Embiid might not put up the pretty stats, but he's more effective than AD.

I've seen AD put up 40 & 15, but somehow seem barely noticeable out there on the court.

Embiid is a bonafide 1st option/team leader.

AD, despite the pretty stats, is more of a 2nd option IMO.

I don't see enough dog in him.

I feel similar. Provided they both remain healthy I think your looking at a situation where AD has all the stats and the "what if" scenario about his career but Embiid finishes with jewelry.
