-Business Plan Contest? For instance a full business plan, and the one best done (meaning a real idea, data, and figures, etc) gets chosen (it'll be nice to provide feedback too).

-Weightloss/bulk up challenge. Even something like a dietbet (Dietbet.com for reference) where the top 3 losers split the prize (health is important in college!)

-Instead of giving 1 person $150 why not gift multiple people (like 15) online classes such as cheaper Udemy lessons, this is 6 certs.

-A "What The Coli Means to Me" essay contest? It can be featured on the front page as a side prize too.(this would be hilarious, but also a good way to practice good writing.)

-A Daily Challenge for a week, give them a different goal for 7 days and whoever completes the most of them accurately wins. For instance day 1, learn Japanese (and have ashort quiz to test) Day 2 solve this problem Day 3, a riddle, Day 4 a short prompt for them to answer.

-Do something daring contest---eat a whole pig,try pufferfish, or tattoo your face. Nothing illegal though. There can be a vote on who wins.

...Now I gave 6 ideas in order of decent to not so decent can I get a rep or something?:feedme:

Love that Business Plan Contest, and the Essay contest could really work also.
Leaning more towards the Business Plan contest..
By the way the money is spread out, there would be a winner, then first, and second place.

I think a shortened business plan is the best. A few pages of new ideas that cover basics. I'm in the startup community and have seen enough b plans & investor decks to help improve good ideas and help critique not so good ideas.

I think we should split it into different disciplines. Otherwise, IT brehs will come up with something for them, business brehs for them, and so on. I'd suggest doing a poll to figure out what our concentrations are, then having competitions within them. For example I'd have the coding people create something using a language they aren't familiar with. Business brehs can do a plan or a case study based off of a real world scenario - similar thing for the IT brehs. Social science people can write an essay (with proper sources and citations) about a topic. Voting on the winner could be from other disciplines though.

Produce a short (3-4 min) video on a topic pertaining to scope of forum..
-How to/educational on something financial..
-- or a short pitch for getting funding for a new/existing business
- or an intro to it/certs/stem careers (steps to take)
-Or someone explaining/sharing a good side hustle etc

Video can be vlog style(talking to camera) or audio over slides or even narrated screen capture

Winner decided by public poll after people watch the entries- based on BEST CONTENT, not slick highly produced video
But at least watchable quality

All just quick thoughts.. but short video is much more accessible (for entries and informed votes) than people trying to write/read 10 page essays or contests that last months to determine a winner

Good luck to all

Have the computer science/IT/cert students create a "how to" for someone who is not at all familiar with technology.

Have that user use those directions and those directions only to complete the task. The task could be something like create a program that inputs students grades from a semester and outputs their GPA. Or it could something else non-programming related yet still technical.

So, the students who's user are able to complete the task shows that they can relate their knowledge to someone else in a non jargon heavy manner.

What about those who don't code? Essay challenge or business plan? Are you doing this based off age, or anyone who applies can participate? I'm personally interested in the Business plan.

Yes you can participate. This will be for anyone who wants to enter. Me and @Brooklynzson want to get something started next week.
So we will set up 3 groups and go from there. We just need to see who wants to be in this..
