People really think the President influences gasoline prices.
:snoop:

You know there's a common maxim in politics that basically says Presidents shouldn't take credit for the economy or wall street. Because if you own the successes you have to own the failures. And since you don't really impact them directly (or at the very least your policies take time to show results) it's better to just shut the fukk up.

You are right, but no one listens.

I remember picking a cliff's notes on Economics about 10 years ago and reading that. That's how basic this information is and so many people don't know it.

Is it the peoples fault or politicians fault for traditionally taking credit and blaming each other for things that are out of their immediate control? A person can be smart, but the people are dumb. If you lead the people to believe this is how it works, they will believe this is how it works.

I would agree with you if we were living before the age of information or the internet.

Not now though.

Now it is willful ingnorance when you can find out information at fibre optic speed on the go

Didn't Biden shut down the keystone pipeline or whatever its called when he first got into office? Supply got cut short so now the thing with Russia just escalated it even further. Who knows what may happen by summer but people gonna be driving less if gas prices keep rising. They should keep the work at home thing going or at least do hybrid for y'all that commute but looks like they want everyone going back and spending more on gas. And good luck getting an EV. I was on Tesla website last night looking and they don't have shipping until July. I imagine other manufacturers have delays also especially with chip shortages and issues with shipping, especially from overseas. I don't even think we get much of our gas from Russia, think its mostly domestic, Canada, and Mexico. So who knows what they doing that the prices have gone up a lot. Could just be using the war as an excuse.

nikka it’s always been the age of information. If you interested in something you will learn more in-depth about it. The average person is not sitting around reading economics books and you can’t expect them to. They are gonna have a surface level knowledge of politics like most people. So if the politicians lead them astray as to how policies work and how to judge a politicians tenure, the average person will be led astray. Mothafukkas trying to go to work, go home, and support they family. Everybody ain’t got time to be all into this shyt. Politicians lying = politicians are to blame. Not politicians lying = the people are to blame. That’s preposterous

The President does influence the gasoline prices, here is an article which talks about it.
How A President Can Impact Gasoline Prices

Even governors can influence gasoline prices. Here in California we have the highest priced gas due to extra taxes on gas and Gavin Newsom wants to suspend the gasoline tax increase:
