If Biden Had Cancelled $50,000 of Student Debt, Black Wealth Would Have Increased By 40 Percent

Biden had a golden opportunity to repay black men and women the favor for decades of unwavering support for the Democratic Party, a chance to make the grandest gesture of good will the black community has received from a President in our lifetime. Student loan debt disproportionately burdens black America, affecting its net worth in a way that is unique and unfelt by any other group in this country; black Americans shoulder a higher percentage of student debt than white Americans, affecting black families’ net worth more than that of white families.

In a Presidency filled with executive orders issued in support of various non-black interest groups, for whom presidential support of congressional action has also been given, it’s reprehensible that Biden refused to avail himself of this moment to reward the one group who put him in office and gave him a Senate majority to work with.

Now do the math on if Biden just simply gave black Americans reparations.....

I agree with the OP.

Also, I am in favor of providing incentive to the Black people that worked hard and paid off their tuition already, give them 50k as well. But they were not even awarded 10k.

What about the people that died of COVId before the vaccine ? What about the people that died of HIV before the advanced medications to make your HIV test negative ?

All I am saying is we have to also provide incentives for Black women and men that worked hard and that took extra shifts in order to pay off their tuition.

And that's not being done. It sends a bad message, hard work does not pay off? They could have chilled, not pay off their tuition, and expected loan forgiveness?

Oh, no doubt.

I see where your headspace is
You're tired of not getting resources to fix issues with the racial wealth gap that have obvious solutions.
Tired of getting tiny policy after tiny policy and growing impatient because we continue to suffer.
I feel you breh. It sucks but America is still racist and in denial about its past and the contributions of black Americans and our share of the wealth created in this country that rightfully belongs to us. What you're asking for is definitely a drop in the bucket compared to what we're truly owed. I get you so you hate the government equally. I get that. However given our previous climate we have to go with the lesser of two evils because we saw what happens if you let the most evil win and champion apathy.

Anything for benefiting black people have to be group in with others …

Let the Alphabet Letters need something or Jews need a extra amount cut off, then they would have a special bill where 50k would go strictly for them
