The money for those loans were already paid for in past budgets when they were dispersed. Nobody is paying for loan forgiveness.

The point of this thread isn’t to deny that black people would benefit from this. Even I would benefit, owing a significant amount. The purpose is to show how fundamentally - purposely, I believe - lacking the Democratic party is when presented with an opportunity to make tremendous strides in addressing the systemic poverty suffered by the most reliable contingent within its base.

It's a step. I'm looking more at the tangibles and changes to interest than anything else. I didn't agree with the income limit. I think it's unfair some people aren't getting a reduction on debt despite working in harder positions, but like I said, the fact that it was actually done was big enough. Janitors ain’t paying federal income tax breh. Pre-pandemic only 44% of Americans did, after COVID that went up to like 56%.
