making millions is now slavery?

Heck I would even pick cotton for the amount of money these guys are making.
Most of the time, these athletes don't even retire (if they make it that far) with millions.

The guy that works at wal mart making 10$ a hr is a slave not the guy making millions playing ball.
What's the difference really??

They both work for a larger entity while he is making a minute percentage out of the total revenue that is putting in.

One guy just make a hell of a lot more money while doing so.

Most guys in the NBA/NFL are NOT Kobe, Lebron, and AP. THey don't even see the millions up front unless you really make rounds in your respective league.

Willingly or not, athletes with a high profile have the attention of the country and in some cases, the world. What they do and don't do has an impact.

When you grow up struggling in a certain paradigm and are lucky enough to succeed despite several obstacles, you kinda do have a moral obligation to try and change it to make it better for others like yourself.
To hide behind this "I'm not a role model" or something like that is rather cowardly...especially considering what people like Jim Brown and Muhammad Ali risked in that very same position.

I agree with that, but what I'm saying is this, 9/10 athletes today would get spooked the fukk out if you ask them of just their 'OPINION' of what plaques our people today. They don't live by the same principles that a Jim Brown or Ali lived by. They see green....they don't see Red, Black and Green. They are role models but don't know their place in society. I tell the kids I mentor all the time, go out there and be something great. But, never ever turn your back on the your community or the people you serve.

What do u do? If u had Lebron skill set u telling me u wouldn't be in the NBA or NFL making millions?
And after your talent is dried up, then what? It is only then you can control your own destiny.

I think the problem is that we are focused on the top tier athletes that make the headlines in a positive way. What about the benchwarmers and the cast-offs?? They make the majority of the sports team, and l bet you they ain't living with millions after they leave their respective league for good. Watch Lance Gross' The Last Fall and see how they are "making millions". IT puts a perspective on how these guys make it to the league, and it's not all as glamorous as it seems.

Not everyone can be like Magic Johnson, who actually played the game and won.

Well then you start doing commentary on basketball games like Charles Barkley

how is that the problem of white America?
It's not a problem, the elite is profiting big time from black talent, that is nothing new. But the black talent is making crumbs compared to the big-wig owners.

Basically they are tapdancing for the masta. And if you are not Michael Jordan and play for the Bobcats, they are white/Jewish. Who is the majority of attendance in NBA/NFL games?

And not only that, they end up being broke and/or on drugs after they are through with them. Same goes for these musicians/artists, particularly in the Motown era (except Berry Gordy was the slave owner back then).
