Honestly, I feel like I have been watching the evolution of the black man for a long time.

We already have many black men and women in society that are making it for themselves and are successful...but many of us seriously are lacking that upward mindset. The one where we stop viewing ourselves as servants and more as kings.

The crown has already been paid for, all we have to do is wear it.

The media plays a big part in keeping us mentally enslaved more than physically enslaved.

I don't even want to talk about comparing us to white people, cause we aren't them...but the thing I realized is mentally, white people might be ahead of us are thinking of themselves as "human beings" by decades...maybe even centuries. This is their strength but honestly, this is their biggest weakness.

I really do think that we are white people's BIGGEST obstacle & nuisance...mainly because they have tried so long and hard to control us...but are still failing. And the weight of that mentally and their inability to deal with us as people for generations will be their downfall.

They've tried to kill us
They've tried to enslave us
They've tried to erase our language and culture
Somehow we are still here...

Our existence is possibly the most threatening thing to the rest of the world cause then they would have to realize we came first and are still here.

Alot of people are really going to hate me for saying this but as long as there is an incentive to promote anti-intellectualism and ignorance in the black community as some sort of "keeping it real" point or as some tenet of our existence, we will continue to lose collectively.

I really do feel like there is an want, an active desire, and expectation of black folks to be ignorant and uneducated. And when we do engage in educated and intellectual dialogue, we are shunned by some members of our community simply because they can't relate to us or resent what is presented to them or really just want us to be as ignorant as them.

Neg me for saying this. I expect other races to think lowly of us because they've been conditioned. I don't expect to get this from other black people and it's sad that I do.

When other races expect us and want us to be dumb and ignorant. Really, that is a defense mechanism. Cause if they saw us as intelligent and successful, they would be forced to change their world view, stop dehumanizing us, and actually view us as people. They don't want to view us as people. They want somebody to feel better than.

So when black people exhibit this, it's a slave mentality to me. Massa don't want you reading books. massa sais we better dumb. dont upset him.

Why not empower yourself with knowledge as a black man or a black woman and realize your value and worth to the world and yourself?

I will not stop talking simply because it makes you uncomfortable. The power of the black man and black woman in the richest country in the world is frightening to those that long to keep us mentally and physically in chains.

I read. Books. Online articles. Newspapers. I check out news sources from Nigeria and Ghana to affairs here in NYC and even in Chicago and Detroit. I just do that to stay informed and keep up with the conversation and dialogue that is constantly being developed. I am also college educated from a four year university with two degrees.

If you're not looking to gain knowledge and wisdom or offer it, then this conversation you started is going nowhere. And I have nothing more to add cause I know you will not take anything into consideration that I say.
