My worry for the US was always about their true buying power. A nation of 350 million being the top market destination for the world's goods was unsustainable and never going to end well.
Never mind there are 7 billion people on earth whom aren't exactly all broke, so America was in an advantageous but precarious position.
When Trump tried to consolidate US power in the world by imposing draconian colonial type taxes, the world basically quietly cut the US off and started negotiating with each other for the first time.
China made way more money shifting US sales to the rest of the world, and that was an eye opener.
Trump was a poor economics student, and a terrible businessman that cannot be advised. He runs the US economy with his own stomach and ego.
And theres 3 more years of this to go.
