If Drake wrote 75% of his raps, would you give him a pass?

I think he wrote more of his earlier stuff, his voice just cuts through every beat and makes him the star on most features. That's really his talent . You still have to talent to rap someone else's lyrics convincingly . Cardi B is great example that you can still rap horrible even with ghost writers.

I give The Game a pass for The Documentary because Fif just wrote the hooks, plus it was originally 50's album.
Ye and Dr. Dre gets a pass because they're producer rappers
Drake is a great artist, but it weird how he has to be put in the Big 3 conversation

Even if Drake wrote 100% of his rhymes, which was assumed before the Meek Mill beef, dudes still wouldn’t like him. The ghostwriting claims just gave them a reason to publicly dislike him without appearing to be haters.

Very few artists write more than 75% of their shyt outside of some particular genre. Hip hop fans making such a big deal about this is part of the reason why it’s such a fukking joke these days. A bunch of MSs who can’t get through an office shift without ChatGPT are gonna point pitchforks? GTFOH
I think that's because people considering singing a natural talent but not rapping. The talent in rap is considered the writing, all though rapping is a lot more musical than it used to be. A lot of people consider rap talking fast and don't view it as a vocal talent
