bruh, you don't build an empire like he did just to then 20 some years later be irrelevant
shyt, he still relevant today
this is just some bullshyt you sayin, bruh :stopitslime:
lol what empire did he build? He made some money selling drugs, signed a fukked up contract for NWA and got finessed by Jerry Heller.

Eazy-E was not some savvy business mogul. People love to romanticize those who died early.

they was never getting fukked tbh

it was just a typical new artist deal, that came around AFTER NWA was a proven success so of course the numbers were going to look funny.

If they had signed those deals BEFORE anything popped off, it would be a different story. At the end of the day, Eazy had Jerry and put a lot of people on (moreso than Dre). Eazy was a business man before an artist and gave everyone at Ruthless a legit shot. He would be a Billionaire. Dre is soley the beneficiary of being Jimmy Iovine's boy.
Okay, but what are you basing "He would be a billionaire on"? Because he provided the startup money for a now-defunct record label under the tutelage of a veteran manager? Come on son.

so he didnt sign Bone Thugs, The Black Eyed Peas & Kokane?

Eazy already had 3 successful acts under his belt post-NWA and died in 95.

Dre only had Snoop and eventually Eminem from 92-00.

Im basing it on the potential. When he was alive, he had a successful label that continued to blossom without the bullshyt at Death Row. He had to be a visionary to sign a white female rapper, two white Jews, a singing rap group (Bone Thugs) and Black Eyed peas to his label and they ALL dropped projects.

Sidebar, everyone that is success had a veteran behind them in someway, thats how life/business works. Its called being schooled and passing the torch. No one just pops up and wins. Even Master P had Micheal Jackson's lawyer.

People get at Jerry for the contracts but even Ice Cube went to another label and got the same treatment which proved the NWA contracts were standard. No one post NWA complained about their Ruthless contract. Even MC Ren/Yella stayed there and didnt say anything once they understood the business.

Eazy-E didn't discover and sign BEP, Jerry Heller's nephew did. Plus they were nobodies until they "sold out" and added Fergie. Their careers went nowhere before then and would've went nowhere as long as they were doing backpacker type shyt. I don't even know who Kokane is really. Did he even go gold ever?

Obviously BTH were a huge hit, but y'all are stretching with this "he would've been a billionaire" bullshyt. :heh: Jay Z and Diddy aren't even billionaires, but we're supposed to believe Eazy motherfukking E would've been one. Gimme a fukking break.

Eazy E still had to put his stamp on them. Jerry Heller was not the one bringing acts to Ruthless. The times just changed and BEP changed with them.

will.i.am Talks Fergie Rumors, Straight Outta Compton, and Eazy-E's Legacy

Did you ever feel out of place on the very gangsta Ruthless?

We were signed to Ruthless Records in 1992 because the great Eazy-E looked at us as his Digable Planets. That was his whole premise. He would tell us, 'Yo, you guys can be A Tribe Called Quest and Digables except from the West Coast.' Remember, this was at a time when N.W.A was hip hop right besides Father MC and the Jungle Brothers and Salt-N-Pepa. We were all hip hop.

Remember, Rakim left Aftermath because Dre was trying to making him do gangster shyt. Eazy let his artists breathe.

Either ways Eazy had a headstart on Jay-Z & Diddy.
