except for the little fact that you said...*ahem* and I quote

:beli:hell you did me than ignore the other choices, you flat out invalidated them:skip:
also @Clutch Robinson
You're right, i presented a false dichotomy...to a non-believer, which makes sense. To a "believer" there really are only two choices, it's not a false dichotomy it truly is a black and white choice. You either do or you don't.

Just curious, would you still have a relationship with God if there was no Heaven? Or do you only have a "relationship" with Him because you believe you are going to be rewarded for it?

I'm not looking for a "gotcha" moment breh. Just having discourse.
Well since we're speaking hypothetically I would say yes. Why? Because I I love God, not heaven. I look forward to a time when I can be with God, regardless of the place. :manny: hypothetically speaking that is.

Quick question @Brown_Pride :
Do you think that we make a conscious decision on everything we believe, or is this just a special case in your opinion?

amazing the rules of logic don't apply to non-believers
why should this be any surprise, they've made an exception of logic to allow belief, now they make exceptions for their own logic

this is all good
just don't pretend that you are logical :ehh:

I asked this on here before and I doubt I will get a answer for the christians on here how do you feel about premarital sex and have you had or do you continue to have premarital sex?
you will never get an answer
they are hypocrites of the highest order for the most part
it's at the core of religion, you need hypocrisy for it all to work
that's why I can never take any of it seriously, there is nothing there but smoke and mirrors

Free will is the ability to choose a life acknowledging God or to choose to live a life not acknowledging God. No one is forced...you have the right to exist on your own terms. But you existing on your own terms doesn't negate Gods plan and the will of it working in the lives of those who chose him. Best to acknowledge God because you don't wanna find yourself unknowingly going against his grain...that's real struggle.

OP is asking you guys to substantiate your claims; not just spout some assertions.
Exactly this shyt bothers me sometimes to be honest it just doesn't seem logical whenever someone tells me something about religion it make no sense to me once I analyze the words they say for a minute or two.

Your skepticism is a good thing; don't let anyone tell you different.

I do. You're going to point me to the UC Davis study now right? This is a philosophical question that IMHO we're not at a stage we can prove one way or the other, but for now I do believe we choose EVERYTHING we believe... definitely open to discuss though?

Never have with regards to religion. It's completely illogical. I can't prove God exist yet I believe. That's not logical, that's faith. I'm ok with that.

You can't substantiate the belief with proof. Belief IS an assertion, it's an assertion that something is there that you cannot explain, weigh, measure, or calculate. Anyone wanting that proof needs to come to terms with that and either believe or not, or perhaps partially believe until one better understands their own feelings and thoughts on the issue.

For sure we agree on this point. Which is why I'm such a strong defendant of the separation of church and state.
