The moon doesn't have any atmosphere, so there are no lightning storms to produce magnets. The moon is like an old toe nail the earth clipped off, so it has elements in it that are attracted to gravity. You ever slide down a cold playground slide in winter and then your hairs start reaching up? That's them feeling the pull of the moon.
