china is weird man. in some ways it is hyper capitalist(working people to death), in other ways it is not (you can't even buy land in china, only the house on top of it, for a limited amount of time). Unfortunately it seems they are at the killing and locking up stage of labor-boss relations, will be interesting to see if they follow a similar path to the u.s

Gotta remember that these people literally thought of themselves as the center of the universe. And after all of their ancient history etc, they went through hundreds of years of utter subjugation, weakness, poverty - oftentimes at the hands of people whom they considered subhuman or beneath them. They literally went centuries getting fukked by one nation/empire after another. The Chinese sole motivating principle over the last 100 years or so has been to make sure that never happens again. And they play the verry long game.
