Kobe averaged 29/7/6 in 2001 playoffs.

That's better scoring and just about the same assists and rebounds as what Bron averaged this year in the playoffs. And for several of his rings.

Only year Kobe was a second option was 2000. In 2001 and 2002 it was 1a/1b. Shaq dominates early. Kobe dominates late.

Except Lebron did it on vastly higher efficiency and without the most dominant center in the league and last year's FMVP drawing most of the attention.

Lebron also averaged more blocks, steals, more assists, and more rebounds while scoring on higher efficiency in less minutes.

And that's probably Kobe's best all-around statistical championship year, in his athletic prime, and it's worse than a 31 year old Lebron with 13 years of mileage on him.

So again, Pippen is better than Kobe since 6>5 right?

You're still proving my point.

Okay. You like playing dumb. Do people play basketball to get the accolades Kobe has or the accolades Lebron has. I'm not answering you back if you avoid this question.

Chalmers is a better PG than Nash. Artest is better than Barkley, brehs.

Oh, the reason Kareem doesn't get shyt is because he has 6 MVPS . He just happened to be coming out of his prime and he was the best player on the 1980 Lakers, he just got injured and Magic's legendary game 7.

Excuses. Kareem doesn't get shyt because people are too scared to call him out.

Lebron is the better basketball player, brehs...just face it.

"But...Kobe = 5 Rings!"....yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm aware.

Kobe fans love to bring up Kobe's TEAM accomplishments when this is as an individual player argument. The only thing Kobe can do better than Lebron is shot the three ball. Lebron can still score with Kobe with his limited jumper and still better at defending, rebounding, passing, playmaking, etc. Kobe was great, brehs....he's just not better than Lebron on an individual player level.

No because he has 6 MVPS to go along with 6 championships while being the all time scoring leader plus he's already won multiple FMVPs.

6 MVPS vs. 1 MVP
6 Championships vs 5 championships
2 FMVPs vs. 2 FMVPs

You're arguing that Pippen is better than Kobe, Magic, Kareem, Shaq, etc.

You gonna argue that you'd take Rodman over Barkley, Malone, Hakeem, and Shaq? More rings since FMVPs and being the first option doesn't matter.

2000 NBA Finals
Shaq 38/16/2 61% fg
Kobe 14/5/5 36% fg

2001 NBA Finals
Shaq 33/16/5 57% fg (guarded by DPOY)
Kobe 24/8/6 41% fg

2002 NBA Finals
Shaq 36/13/4 59% fg
Kobe 27/6/5 51% fg

2004 NBA Finals (L to Pistons)
Shaq 26/11/1 63% fg
Kobe 22/3/4 38% fg

2016 NBA Finals
Bron 30/11/9 49% fg
Kyrie 27/4/4 47% fg

Kyrie's performance this year was closer to Bron's than any of the 3 championship wins that Kobe had with Shaq. LeBron won unanimous MVP this year. Face it, those were Shaqs rings and Kobe was the sidekick, get that 1a 1b shyt outta here.

Now compare Kobe and shaq in the Western conference finals those years when they played their toughest competition.

Finals were a mere formality those years given how weak the east was.

It's the equivalent of the eastern conference finals for Cleveland this year.

If getting out of the west is the real finals, then Kobe has a horrible finals record.

Nah, MVPS are a pretty big deal because it's an amazing barometer of elite consistency. People act like the 82 games before a playoff don't matter but they very much do.

A player that is able to set and anchor his team to the point of an MVP-consideration shows top-tier impact that deserves to be commended.

Multiple ones with multiple championships across multiple years shows that dude puts you in an upper echelon of talent and consistency.

I think Steph Curry, Dirk in 2007, and Nash rendered that mute.

It's a media popularity contest.

The players voted Harden mvp in 2015. Pretty much discrediting his media mvp.

Nash stole one from shaq and another from Kobe if the players were allowed to vote.

Too much media politics to take an award not won on the floor seriously.

If the media was allowed to give out championships, I'm sure they would have given it to GSW this year.

And we all saw what happened once we went on the floor and let the game decide it than media heads.
