Nah that's no act. That's a living example of the fact that just because you play high school sports and get playing time doesn't make you an "athlete." Whatever injury he sustained came from a total lack of body control, general awkwardness, and landing completely on his heels (which is why his back and head hit that wall pad as hard as it did).
His body's reaction (and his lack of control through it all) to that dunk? That's some real plumber and roofer shฤฑt right there!
