Then quit while your ahead and go get a job.
you seem to have a lot of negative energy in your spirit right now. @Slaimon Khan Shah can help you

What more do you want to know? Basically they are the ones who will "deal" with terrorist threats first hand. They mingle with the local nationals in the cities and provinces, gather Intel, in some cases interrogate suspects, etc
I want to hear your stories dealing with them

Make it through basic and AIT first nikka :mjlol:
how was it for you?

That's like asking "what is food"...it's exactly how it sounds; just different specifications and roles. You could be counter terrorism all the way to a negotiator..there's a lot of segmentation and just depends what field.

As for is it hard ? Well you have to go through basics first and "hard" is a relative term...could be a cake walk for some and hell for others..

When I was in the military, I worked as a liaison for international affairs making sure that the communication I received from other countries was reported accurately and on time..it was tough and required a high level of precision, but I'm analytical - so it would've been a mountain to climb for someone that doesn't pay attention to detail and don't understand context...it's a soft vs hard skills type of situation..I know id do terrible with airplane wiring and engineering so I focused on where I could be the most valuable..

What are your skills and what are your weaknesses? That's a better question to ask

Edit: I see a lot of responses talking about counter terrorism and the "grunt work", but it's a broader scope than that..strategists can be considered in special forces

And its pretty difficult. Which branch? Are you in fantastic physical shape, no mental conditions, near-perfect vision, and very receptive to authority?

but you still went threw with it?
No, I'm in school. It was definitely something I wanted to do, I still do, honestly. 3 members in my family made SF. You will be deployed a lot, if combat is what you seek, you will find it if you make SF. I don't think anyone should want to put their life on the line like that. Everyone is different though. My dad can't get enough of the military life, even after retiring he managed to get a contracting job and has been shipped all over the place for the last 4 years.

Are you ready to sneak into someone's house and cut their throat while they're in bed and maybe killed their entire family too? By hand?
what part of the military are you in?

if the pay is shytty why is special forces looked at with a lot of prestige? Why do people want to do it?

Damn. So he doesn't think his personality rubbed off on you? Why wouldn't he want you to continue the family legacy? Please don't forget to ask him how difficult it is to make it on SF for me
