Ehh, I feel like it would've been out of place on the album. The atmosphere that beat creates is pretty different from anything else on Illmatic.
It's a possibility, that beat would've arguably been the best one on Illmatic

the beat is too happy for illmatic IMO, ILL is a darker album.
Yeah. I don't listen to either piece of music for the same reason. Say the World is yours I listen to be contemplative. 93' till infinity is more of an upbeat thing for me.

I have a feeling Nas voice would have been overbearing on that beat. If you listen to the original, it's as though souls of mischief voice take a backseat to the instrumental which adds to the whole theme and vibe of just chillin. It's perfect imo
Nah that's not a happy beat, that beat is so versatile, it can fit any emotion the rapper puts to it.
