I disagree. The only people I know who dont like Cole are hood nikkas who think Gucci Mane is the best rapper alive. College level/working class black people like Cole, white people like cole and most importantly, females like Cole. His female hits like workout and power trip has given him a big female audience. Maybe the Bay Area has a different culture than where yall are from but most people I know (21-25) know who J Cole is and like his music for the most part.

This has NOTHING to do with anything i said.

Dude is just a rapper, he's not anything else... You don't reach that A list status, til you're a somebody to the rest of people who aren't into hip hop.

if J Cole does something, nobody outside of hip hop cares... But Kanye running into a stop sign is shyt that everyone took time out of their day to laugh at.

Cole could probably be a "star" if he had a personality, did more features, and actually was a member of the hip hop community for a change. Everything about him seems isolated. He's not out there finding producers, he's not chopping it up with big time producers, he rarely does interviews or gets publicity at sports events, etc. He releases an album, tours a couple months, then disappears.

I didn't expect this album to sell like this, and it seems like his fans are digging it (even if I think it's just aite). Maybe, just maybe, the upper eschalon is right there for the taking...if he wants it. But when I listen to Crooked Smile and Let Nas Down it sounds like he doesn't want to change who he is to make that next step.

I really wish Crooked Smile was a Truly Yours track instead of this nikka's next single

This one case in which numbers do lie. J Cole nor Kendrick are A-List rap superstars they sell alot of records (for today) and have loyal fans but them nikkas could walk by your parents not be recognized. They don't have charisma or strong enough personalities.

j cole makes you so upset huh  :umad:

personality helps them stay relevent in the media but your kidding yourself if you think it holds an artist back from being top tier

A list, would imply... that he's a household name to the masses, and not just hip hop fans....and he's nowhere close to that.

You forget that this is the same dude who was mistaken for Chris Brown?

So Jay is a fake mogul now? :laff:

When was Jay a real mogul?
