If J. Cole really does the projected numbers, he's officially a rap superstar

Cole took his time and cultivated his fans into customers...

Truth.

This is how it's supposed to be done. Grassroots, he took it back to buildin' that brand up. And that's how you keep those people with you, when they grow and walk with you as you progress. You don't want that crowd that cops off of hype, because they'll drop you the minute someone else pops up.

Same nikkas been spraining hamstrings running to downplay Cole since SOHH with no effect:skip: Same nikkas with the corny "This'll help me go to sleep tonight" post in every thread about dude, yet he comes out and sells more than Lil Panasonic, Yung Mitsubishi or whoever the "buzzing" nikka of the moment y'all stan is. :dead:

nikkas just think Cole isn't a 'star' because he doesn't have a gimmick. He's a regular nikka like most of us who happens to rap. Noreaga doesn't owe him 100 favors, he's not begging ex bytches on their voicemails, and he ain't fukking fame whores who are successful off a porn tape while simultaneously acting like a diva. The same reason they dont want to give him their respect is the same reason they call him 'boring'.

"And no I ain't get shot up a whole bunch of times
Or make up shyt in a whole bunch of lines
And I ain't animated like, say, Busta Rhymes
But the real shyt you get when you bust down my lines" ~ HOV

Nah, not us.

here's the thing Nigerian. I'ma keep it 100% real with ya my dude

we, the great people of SOHH, never gave a big enough fukk about Big Sean to even have a strong opinion on him like that. nikkas would drop comments on his music like oh he cool, yeah I like this song.. and keep it moving

:patrice:

he ain't have no haters, cuz like I said, we weren't thinkin bout dude. like at all.. it wasn't until you showed up on some "J. Cole never gonna make it, Big Sean the real star!!!" shyt that we actually started payin attention to that muhfuccka!

but, as you see, that went no where. the stats ain't addin up. It's Kevin Durant vs OJ Mayo right now. yeah the boy a nice player, he can put on the show, and with the right people around him, he might do some things... but that nikka ain't in the same stratosphere as young simba lmao..

but at this point, even addressing Big Sean is beating a dead horse. It's not even entertaining at this point because its a one sided fight. Sean ain't even throwing punches, the boy getting pounded.

:laff:

:russ:

Exactly, on SOHH no one had an opinion one way or another on big Sean, it wasn't until this nikka started comparing him to cole and shytting on cole did the fukk big Sean movement begin

You're not a superstar until your tour do massive numbers or you headline Summer Jam/other festivals.

He's not in that top bracket yet and I doubt he ever will be.

He's certainly B grade. He, Ross and Nicki in that bracket.

But unlike the others... he hasn't really been influential for the game.

While I didn't hear anything great from Born Sinners, congrats Cole :salute:

It's a great sign, with more KDots and Coles scanning impressive numbers in this climate :obama:

it's hilarious how much folks are in denial. basically, just because j. cole doesn't whore himself and remain low key, but when he DO releases an album.. people come out in support in DROVES he's still not a "superstar"

but keep outselling those you claim as "superstars" because those guys keep whoring themselves. i guess it's all about who's more VISIBLE in y'all minds.

J.Cole ain't no superstar and never will be  In terms of features y'all acting like J.Cole didn't have Trey Songz, Missy Elliot, and Miguel on his singles. Outside of Workout J.Cole has had a feature on every single.
The whole argument dies cause Cole's biggest song has no features and is produced by himself.
We can't neglect the fact that Cole has been selling more than all this people as well since he dropped his album.

There's a big difference between having Trey Songz and Miguel on your singles, not even singing the hook but a lil bridge or intro to the hook. And having Kanye West and Nicki Minaj spitting mad bars, Chris Brown doing whole hooks.

This stain is mad persistent though, clap for him.

He's a star, but he's not a superstar yet. Let's wait until he gets a platinum record first.

He's not on the Hov, Ye, Em, Drake level yet.
