Will is a star, but an average actor at best. We havent been able to see any range or development from him, because he chooses so many one-dimensional roles. Compare Ali to Ray, and that will tell you all you need to know about the skill level of the two actors. Will isnt in Foxx's league.

Will Smith is the Jay-Z of acting. I don't mind that as a diss, but I don't mean it as a compliment either. Talent is definitely there but seems to be primarily motivated by the money and not the art.
