Would you blame him? His legacy in the game has been cemented and he might still be the most bankable NBA player in retirement.

The way the league is now, I don't see him winning another ring unless he somehow finds himself on the Rockets. The Celtics will be stronger next year and Durant has committed to the Warriors.

The only thing the guy is chasing now is stats. :patrice:
Lol the rockets . D'antoni ain't shyt .

Retire and miss out on 1 last max deal? LeBron won't even take a paycut in order for the team to sign better talent. He took a paycut in Miami but refused to do the same thing in Cleveland. That's why they could only fill the roster with aging vets playing for the minimum.

He probably never thought Gilbert would get rid of the GM who was an expert at acquiring talent for nothing. Huge miscalculation that ruined his legacy.

These are half truths.

And getting rid of Griffin was a miscalculation but that's not the biggest miscalculation. The biggest miscalculation was the assumption that Kyrie actually wanted to play with him. If he knew Kyrie would want to leave he might not have come back to begin with. Or he would've told them to ship Kyrie out earlier for a better return.

I just find it funny that this Superteam atmosphere he created will be the end of his legacy :wow:

It’s gonna be a fun offseason too see who he links up with. Really only one true situation that fits his style while also giving him the “help” he needs , which would allow him to play at this level for 3-5 more years.

But I don’t want this diva in Boston taking shots at the young bucks and trying to shyt on Brad Stevens :camby:

"unless he somehow finds himself on the Rockets"

If he's a free agent and the other option is retiring with no new contract, you really think he'll have to work hard to persuade the Rockets to sign him breh? :russ:

Morey would trade his grandmother to make it work.

This man is still dominant.

He ain't goin nowhere.

If he DID retire, it would send shockwaves throughout the sports world, though.

He’s not going to retire. But if he decided to do so, he’d really be missed and NBA ratings would definitely plummet. The game just wouldn’t be the same anymore.

If he retires, I'mma just go with the mental narrative that the last few years been a Machiavellian plot to fukk Gilbert over. The championship win was secondary to "Let me roll on back after this mufukka done talked mad shyt. Remind Ohio who they should love - me, not some crotchety billionaire - but mostly low-key gut the team of future stars, send away the people they got in the Kyrie trade, saddle them with big contracts for my boys, then dip and leave them to mire in mediocrity without me. Go stack my money doing movies and occasional well-paid speaking arrangements, nevermind the side-hustle TV and commercial stuff while they continue to pay out Tristan, JR and all them randoms because they can't not... and then when the value of the franchise tanks without me there... swoop in and buy the Cavs out from under the same person who talked mad shyt about me."
I mean. I don't think he's this devious.
But if he is, it's not only foreshadowed, but like... bruh. The shyt would me a masterstroke. Hear someone talking shyt, and just throw your revenge on simmer for years, just to take their empire out from under them, and then get to be LeOwner instead of LeGM? Just in time for that wave of kids who jumped into basketball heavy at the start his era, instead of Kobe or Jordan, to be hitting the age to want to play for him? Swoop in, take the franchise, even if not at majority ownership, and you got people tripping over themselves trying to get on over there.

I mean. It isn't happening. Because I don't think that's how he operates. And the NBA isn't GoT, except on that Game of Zones thing, but... if it were, and this happened, I think I'd move LeBron to #2 all-time just off the strength of some Lannister-ass scheming. Definitely respect that more than his garbage defensive play.
