How does that correlate to a hatred of Trump? It's a strawman argument.
If he is a dangerous liar in bed with foreign governments and also the Commander-in-Chief how doesn't it correlate? He has the most autonomous power in the military part of his job. Great resistance there Dems. :francis: Also, we already spend more than like the next 7 biggest militaries besides ours combined. Regardless of who is president there was no need to raise the military budget. What was the reasoning behind the Dems votes? Please tell me?:gucci:

Dude, you haven't correlated anything.

That America has a massive military budget has always been known. No one wants to be seen as not supporting the military.

It's a problem that has has been there long before Trump and needs to be fixed. To try to link this longstanding to problem with Trump love/hate is farcical. It's much deeper than that.

How do we fix it then? By going along with it? Politicians run on improving the government not rubber stamping the worse of the status quo.

You have an honest conversation about America's dependence on the Military Industrial Complex, which is a topic in itself. The questions asked by OP are a gross, and even worse, incorrect oversimplification of a serious issue.

By OP's reasoning, Bernie Sanders is a warmonger for bringing the manufacture of the Lockheed Martin's F-35 fighter jet to Vermont.

Well I just asked you an open ended question about a solution. You can say whatever. How isn't that honest?
Did Bernie vote for the military budget increase OP is referring to? The topic is specific to the budget increase under Trump not what is going on locally in Vermont.

Never said you were dishonest. Read the post again. I said there needed to be an honest conversation about the MIC. Dems needs to reconcile what spending less money on the military looks like against the backlash of being called unpatriotic and possibly losing elections because of it.

The military is a massive part of the fabric of America. Framing the correct argument to take to the American people is important.

As far as the Bernie mention, it was simply to show that if the OP surmised something about the Dems and how they see Trump in the light of a vote that isn't as black and white as he thinks, that the argument could be easily taken and used to surmise something about someone else. It wouldn't be true, but the point could certainly me made and argued even though it was incorrect.

Ok, those who didn't vote for it have they faced any consequences from their local electorate? While our military is indeed massive and supports a lot of local towns and cities I don't think it is as big of a deal breaker election loser with the electorate you are making it out to be. I think politicians are just moreso bought by military manufacturers via campaign contributions and don't want to rock the boat. It's really just greed/lack of courage more than anything.

I dont know.

I also don't know if it was focused on by the GOP.

Would need some data to form a reasonable conclusion.

That said, if OP had simply asked, why did so many dems support the Military spending bill, we could have had a reasonable discussion. Instead he chose to frame it the way he did.
