Don't get me wrong. I like my share of ignorant ratchet music. But there used to be a strong balance on radioCrazy. Pushing rappers that gonna go broke, for the latest strip club hit that hoes will literally forget in a month.

Ultimately it always comes down to the parents and that's what I always stress in these threads. My parents didn't care that I was listening to Biggie and Mobb Deep becuz they knew they were guiding me the right way. I was able to separate the entertainment from the reality. I also grew up on a lot of old school shyt so I appreciate the classics. I even try to pass that down to mine nowBut you got kids under 16 that literally been exposed to trap music, and nothing else. I mean, NOTHING ELSE. They had parents that never bothered to put on a Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind and Fire, or even a Michael Jackson album in their lives. Trap music to the kids, is all they know.
When they start having kids, and their foundation to black music is based on ratchet strip club songs, you gonna have problems, like Crack babies having problems throughout their lives over decisions that their lazy azz parents refused to put time in.

do you guys listen to other forms of music to be able to accurately critique the space/content of black music within a larger music community?

Post 1 current mainstream pop song or stop replying to me. You just went back 20 years again and dug up Marylyn Manson. I can go back too and bring up gangster rap. Again, 1 mainstream pop song glorifying destructive/criminal behavior.i reached back 20 years to show you how long it's been going on. you think that was just the last song or that calvin harris (someone you already posted) is the first example of horrible pop you don't know much about music as a whole.
you prob never heard of marilyn manson either or remember all the moms/councils protesting him or want to exclude the effects rock music to verify your point as well. cognitive bias.
me thinks you subconsciously put white people on a pedestal or you don't know much about music as a whole and can only see t through the gauge of rap.you aren't saying anything new so stop trying to act like blacks are just the only ones promoting degenerative behavior.
shouldnt this tell you its all music and not just a black problem. ignore proof to prove a point brehs. You just went back 20 years again and dug up Marylyn Manson. I can go back too and bring up gangster rap.

How about because it's what nikkas wanna listen to
Y'all nikkas seriously think "da white manz" is putting special kinda music on the radio to "poison" nikkas?
How about the music that's on those stations is there because that's what people want to listen to??
I can tell y'all a bunch of old nikkas if y'all think radio even matters anymore
Radio plays whatever is popping the most on the internet which is chosen by the PEOPLE![]()
radio stations play music based on the genre on their station not based on the skin color of the artist
and white rappers don't say cracker because white people don't go around calling themselves crackers
like how dumb are you?
a song called "hit me baby one more time" dropped 1998 but you doubt pop music has negative influence today, almost 20 years later lol the whole pop/dance scene centers around ecstasy and opiates
what's the dif between a drug dealing son and a hoe daughter
i ain't saying ur wrong, but "harmful" music is not just a black/hip-hop problem.
The name wheat thins gives it away. To the list he goes
