this is a pointless argument unless you are going to allow an 8 year old to wear whatever he/she wants and do whatever he/she wants. most parents make their kids dress according to their gender until they can't enforce it anymore. so unless you plan on letting your 8 year old dictate what goes on in your house with your money, i can't foresee this being an actual problem

The vitriol that accompanies many of people's rigid disdain for something related to sex, lifestyle and/or drugs seems to show deeper issues.

It seems that rational people look at these various alternative lifestyles and, if they disagree with it, they'll put the and then keep it moving without thinking about it again.

Even religious people, who think a person's going to burn in hell, if they're reasonable people, will keep it moving without ever raising a "God hates fags" sign.

But those who expend energy discussing and condemning these alternative lifestyles... Make it a point to spend their energy to create discussion on just how nasty, despicable and evil it is...
