People like bad dudes who'll break their hearts. They like that drama. Nothing new. Happens in the gay world too.

Women need drama, like we need oxygen.
It doesn't have to be sexual in nature, but they need "friction".

It probably some early human/proto human deal, where you are constantly worried about if a saber tooth or bad weather was going to kill you or kids. So a woman is running dramatic scenarios just innately, in her head about three things:

1) If she dies does the man have the tools and traits to get a new woman to take care of the kids.

2) Does he have the tools and traits to keep her and kids safe from danger and

3) The psychological knowledge that she has a "prize" that other women can't have (theoretically), essentially suggesting "look at my success in landing quality security, biiitch!".

That's my anthropological theory.
