Biggest baddest boss
Would we still be talking about him like biggie? Would illmatic even be in conversations? Personally I think not. Illmatic is the most overrated event in hip hop history besides GKMC. drop your thoughts

Fine, he'll never outshine goataveli shakurY'all gotta understand by now
No matter how much y'all hate illmatic or Nas they're not going away![]()
I feel you but nas. Followed big into more commercial singles yet still never reached his level so no excuses pleaseNo he'd probably be closer to Big Pun ( a technically very skilled rapper), that being said, Biggie had a much stronger marketing crew than Nas did.

I agree nas didn't go blatant commercial till after the illmatic runWhen Big dropped Ready to Die, he already had established verses, had ran the college circuit (outside of NY for the most part) for over two years prior, was an established battle rapper, and had guest spots amongst then famous rappers and R & B groups. Nas never approached anything remotely that commercial until 95. That's part of the reason IWW is regarded as it is, despite the lack of critical acclaim (at the time), it estblished Nas as not only a spitta but a commercially viable one.
