I graduated high school in 2004. Camera phones really didn't get popping until 2002 and you gotta remember with most new technology there's early adaptors and laggards. Also in my school if you pulled your cellphone out in class they'd take it. I think these days schools have rules that say you can't take cell phones due to emergencies so there's nothing teachers can really do. Basically when I went to high school you used your phone at lunch, to play games but it wasn't the type of thing where you'd be on it al day. I actually had 2 phones back then because I had a flip phone and a sidekick (before they got corny) [before that I had the motorola 2 way pager]. I more or less just played games on it and/or but the sidekick was dope because you could go on the internet the same way you can on these smart phones today, that was rare back then.
