Every rapper got similar songs is you listen enough. As far as Kato. I'm pretty sure I read 2Pac didn't know Kato, he was one of Big Syke's homeboys that 2Pac wanted to be.

nah, "bout it bout it" was huge, but im pretty sure no limit didnt blow at least until 97, maybe 98 at the latest.
anyway, i remember when dmx first came out, his appearance was that of 2pac, but their styles were completely different. he had a bunch of albums out before i ever took him seriously, cause i could never get past that corny a$$ barking gimmick that he had. once i did tho, i came to appreciate him as a damn good mc. it's dark and hell is hot has crazy replay value. pac vs dmx would've been some shiit tho...

I remember reading a interview about Russell Simmons wanting Def Jam to sign X because he reminded him of Pac from a energy/aura standpoint


I love some of X's music, but he was more "gimmicky" than Pac.A lot of that "grimy" Ruff Ryder/ Dog Barking shyt seemed very formulaic at the time.That's when record execs started trying to capitalize on that "street" void in hip hop.

They kinda polished X up a bit.He was rapping about alphabets, but they had him barking like a dog.


I'm not trying to diss X.He dropped some dope shyt, but he really didn't have the originality that Pac had.


X hit the game at the perfect time.X is actually older than Pac and Big.Maybe was even in the game before them.I think it's more than a coincidence that he blew up after they died.He really didn't have a lane until that peculiar time in rap '97-'00.The game literally reset during that time.Even Puffy & Mase was eating off that shiny suit shyt
